Nigerian comedian and filmmaker, Ayo Makun, better known as AY comedian has debunked circulating social media reports claiming he regrets his separation from estranged wife, Mabel Makun, and is seeking reconciliation.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2008, announced their separation in April 2024 after years of speculation. While AY previously admitted that both parties shared responsibility for the breakdown of the marriage, the exact reasons for their split remain undisclosed.

In a statement released via his official Instagram page, AY Comedian dismissed the reconciliation stories as “false, misleading and deliberately manipulative.” He noted that the narratives were only being pushed to drive traffic and social media engagement. The statement reads:
“My attention has been drawn to a series of false, incessant, and insensitive social media posts suggesting that I am in a state of regret and seeking reconciliation in my past relationship.”
“These publications are deliberately manipulative, calculated to mislead the public, and designed solely for traffic and engagement.”

The comedian further stressed that he has never authorized or made any such statements, insisting that he has the platform and credibility to communicate directly with the public if necessary. He continued:
“For clarity, I have never authorized or made any such statements.
If I wish to communicate my personal position on any matter, I have the platform, the reach, and the credibility to do so directly-not through faceless blogs and rumor-driven platforms.”
AY Comedian also warned that he would be taking legal action against blogs, media platforms, and individuals who persist in publishing or spreading defamatory content about his personal life. He declared:
“This serves as a final warning: all such false narratives should be disregarded by the public. Moving forward, the appropriate legal measures will be instituted… Enough of the lies.”
