Governors elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP are currently in a closed-door meeting at the Zamfara State Government House, Gusau.

The reason for the meeting could not be ascertained immediately but may not be unconnected with the recent leadership crisis rocking the party.

DAILY POST recalls that the party is expected to hold it’s 102nd National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting on Monday.

Zoning of the 2027 presidential ticket is one of the major decisions that is expected to be taken at the meeting.

Three options are before the party: zoning the presidential ticket to the South, throwing it open or zoning it to the North.

However, major stakeholders are in favour of zoning it to the South, arguing that the South still have four years left.
