Tanker loaded with LPG summersaults in Ibadan

A tanker conveying twenty six (26) tons of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) has summersaulted in Ibadan in Oyo State.

The incident, according to sources, occurred on Monday around Sat Guru Mahraji area, a few minutes to the defunct toll plaza along the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway.

It was learnt that the tanker swerved off the road and fell on an open road and summersaulted.

Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service, Hon Maroof Akinwande, when contacted, confirmed the development.

Akinwande in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Tuesday noted that no life was lost in the incident.

He added that normalcy had been restored to the road as of the time of filing this report on Tuesday.

Akinwande said, “Upon arrival, it was a Mack trailer tanker registration no T25163LA loaded with twenty -six (26) tons capacity of Liquified Petroleum Gas(LPG) swerved and fell on an open road.

“The officers of the agency quickly swung into action by engaging necessary equipment so as to calm down the situation and prevent the tanker from explosion.

“No casualty was recorded and the tanker was saved. Normal vehicular movement has been restored”.
