President of De-Advocates for Justice Human Rights Organisation, AJ, Comrade Israel Joe, has called for discontinuation of the personal vendetta against human rights activist, Sowore Omoyele, by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun.

The activist has threatened that his group and other civil society groups will, in solemn solidarity, occupy the court on the same day either to see justice or observe a subversive collective will of the people.

He condemned the actions of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, for his vindictiveness against the person of Omoyele Sowore with regards to demanding details about his account as a law-abiding citizen of Nigeria.

Joe said, “This is an antique of the ruling class to silence dissenting voices, especially that of a patriotic activist, nationalist, Pan-African journalist, and businessman in the person of Comrade Omoyele Sowore through a counter-productive court process.”

“This was the same charge I was threatened with by the police in Delta State Command when I spearheaded and led the #EndHarshipProtest in Delta State.

“I was detained for hours while the police scrambled for my financial records to implicate me. However, they found none.”
