Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah has picked two teams he expects to challenge them for the Premier League title this season.

In the last campaign, Salah scored 29 goals as the Reds clinched their 20th title.

Arne Slot’s men finished 10 points ahead of Arsenal and 13 clear of third-placed Manchester City.

This weekend, Liverpool host Arsenal at Anfield in a top-of-the-table clash.

Both sides have six points from their opening two fixtures, with Tottenham the only other team yet to drop points.

Speaking ahead of the game, Salah told Sky Sports: “Of course, that team, I said that a few times today and also at the PFA awards. I said they are the favourites because they have played together for five, six years, so they understand each other’s game and they have had the same manager for five, six years.

“When the team has stuck together for that long, they know each other’s game, so it becomes easier for them. But other teams like us and Manchester City are changing a lot of players, which is sometimes tricky.

“But again, with a team led by Pep Guardiola, they are always the favourites. But of course, in my opinion, this year Arsenal are number one.”
