Warri Wolves have been charged with breaching the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, framework after failing to provide adequate security during their matchday encounter against Rangers on Sunday.

The security lapses caused a delay in the scheduled 4 p.m. kick-off at the Southern Delta University Stadium, Ozoro.

As a result, Warri Wolves have been fined N1 million for failing to provide “prompt, adequate, and effective security” for the fixture.

The Seasiders have also been directed to put in place an effective matchday security arrangement and submit its details to the NPFL within seven days.

In addition, the club has 48 hours to appeal the sanction.

Warri Wolves are scheduled to host Kwara United in their next home game.
