The Chief Press Secretary to the Benue State Governor, Sir Tersoo Kula, has said Governor Hyacinth Alia has not announced himself as Commissioner of Works.

He made the clarification following the assignment of portfolios to newly inaugurated commissioners, with no one assigned to the Ministry of Works.

The development had fuelled rumolrs and speculations that the governor must have assigned the Ministry of Works portfolio to himself.

Kulas in a statement on Thursday said the rumours were unfounded.

“Those who made posts or are sharing this on social media handles should also ensure they delete such falsehood immediately.

“His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia has not announced himself as Commissioner for Works. Those peddling unfounded rumors should note and desist.

Sir Kula emphasized the importance of accurate information dissemination especially in matters of governance, and called on the public to focus on supporting the administration’s efforts to drive progress across the state.
