Nicolas Jackson, Chelsea loanee, has finally broken his silence after leaving the Blues for Bayern Munich.

The Senegal international joined the Bundesliga champions on a season-long loan from Chelsea after falling down the pecking order of manager Enzo Maresca’s choice of strikers at Stamford Bridge.

His loan deal almost collapsed on transfer deadline day after Liam Delap sustained an injury, but Bayern Munich ended up striking a new deal with Chelsea to secure the player’s signature.

Speaking to TuttoSport about his move away from the Premier League west London club, Jackson said he had no regrets leaving Maresca’s side.

“[There were] very strong emotions, but not for the reasons you might think,” Jackson said (via Mirror).

“I was simply very happy to sign for one of the biggest clubs in the world, to discover another league and other great players.

“At the same time, I was a little sad to leave Chelsea, my teammates, and the fans.

“Football is full of cycles. I respect Maresca, I learned a lot from him, he has his own ideas and style.

“I have no regrets, just gratitude for my time at Chelsea.”
