NSCDC arrests car-snatching suspect in Niger

The Niger State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has announced the arrest of a car-snatching suspect, Ibrahim Sule, in connection with a broad daylight incident along the Zungeru–Tegina Road in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.

According to the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSC Abubakar Rabiu Muti, in Minna, the incident occurred on September 6, 2025, at approximately 8:30 pm, after the command received credible intelligence from its Tegina Divisional Office about a vehicle-snatching incident involving three suspects.

He explained that officers of the command quickly mobilised, and Ibrahim Sule was apprehended. The stolen vehicle, a Honda Cross Tower, was recovered.

Muti stated that preliminary investigations have revealed that one of the suspects, Azi Mu’azu, allegedly poisoned the driver of the vehicle to gain control.

Muti stated that the NSCDC is working diligently to apprehend the remaining two suspects. He disclosed that the suspects will be charged in court for prosecution.

He further noted in the statement that the command is working closely with other security agencies to ensure a crime-free society and will continue to protect critical national assets and infrastructure in Niger State.
