President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, has issued a lengthy public statement addressing growing controversies surrounding his administration, the Guild’s Board of Trustees, and the ongoing domestic issues involving Prince Ned Nwoko and actress Regina Daniels.

Rollas released the statement on his official Instagram page on Wednesday as he prepares to exit office, saying he felt compelled to “speak the truth clearly and responsibly” after years of silence and mounting accusations.

In the statement, Rollas clarified his relationship with Nwoko and Regina Daniels, describing the matter as a “family issue” he had avoided commenting on publicly out of respect. Nwoko currently serves as Chairman of the AGN Board of Patrons, while Regina is a member of the Guild.

Rollas said he decided to speak up because his name has been repeatedly dragged into the couple’s ongoing personal issues.

Rollas criticised senior colleagues and members of the AGN Board of Trustees for allegedly allowing him to “stand at the frontline of battles” while they remained silent. He mentioned Okey Bakassi, Charles Inojie, Chinyere Wilfred, Jide Kosoko, and Sanni Danji as witnesses to incidents involving Regina during a recent film shoot.

“You saw things firsthand, especially regarding Regina, and we all know she needs help,” Rollas wrote, adding that their silence has left him exposed to unwarranted attacks.

The AGN president disclosed that Senator Nwoko gave him a specific condition while the Guild was planning a roundtable event in South Africa, insisting that Regina should not travel through Lagos.

Rollas also recounted an incident he said occurred at the birthday party of Regina’s son. According to him, Nwoko publicly commented on his wife’s smoking habits in the presence of friends, AGN members, and Regina’s mother.

He stressed that his intention in recalling these events was not to shame the actress but to highlight that she “needs help,” pointing out that many guild members have received similar support in the past.

Rollas advised Regina’s mother, Rita Daniels, to prioritise her daughter’s wellbeing over AGN politics. He condemned what he described as attempts by some industry players to push her towards contesting for AGN leadership positions.

He warned that such individuals were “enemies” encouraging division within the Guild.

Rollas also criticised Senator Nwoko for taking private family matters to social media, saying the issues could have been resolved internally.

He addressed widespread claims that Nwoko donated ₦200 million to the AGN, clarifying that the funds were given strictly to Regina for her film production, not to the Guild.

The AGN president defended his record in office, emphasising that he successfully convened national congresses and maintained stability without major financial support from the Board of Trustees.

Rollas confirmed that the AGN convention will be held in the first week of December, warning that “nobody dead or alive” would be allowed to disrupt the transition process under the guise of contesting his tenure expiration.

Concluding his statement, Rollas said he had carried many burdens quietly but would no longer allow his legacy to be tarnished by false narratives.

“I have served with my whole heart,” he wrote. “I owe myself the dignity of speaking the truth before leaving office.”

He also urged colleagues not to call him privately to discuss his statement
