A Nigerian manhas gone viral online after sharing what he saw on the faces of the recently freed Kebbi schoolgirls who were abducted by suspected bandits last week.
Students Regain Freedom After Days in Captivity
The 24 students of Government Girls Secondary School, Maga, in Danko district of Danko Wasagu Local Government Area, Kebbi State, were kidnapped during an attack on their school.
They were released on November 25, 2025, after days in captivity.
Presidency Releases Video After Rescue
Bola Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the Nigerian President, shared a video confirming their return.
He captioned it; “All the 24 Kebbi schoolgirls fully accounted for. No one left behind.”
The clip quickly made rounds on social media, drawing mixed reactions from users.
Man Raises Concerns About Girls’ Mood in Video
One of the reactions came from Idris Abdur-Rahman Suleiman, known on X as @Mr_Ibn_khaldun.
He noted that the girls appeared unusually calm and lively for individuals who had just been released from captivity.
He wrote: “We thankfully appreciate all efforts to bring our sisters back home intact. But our confusion is that the narrative is taking another direction. These girls in this video are as if they are coming back from an excursion… Their faces shows no sorrow! And how possible???”
Comments Stir Debate on Social Media
His remarks sparked discussions among Nigerians, with many sharing differing opinions.
While some agreed that the girls’ expressions seemed surprising, others argued that reactions to trauma vary and that the students might have been instructed to stay calm during the recording.
