Controversial content creator Izzy Ogbeide has stirred massive reactions online after a video of her claiming that childrenare neither blessings nor from God surfaced on social media.
In the recently surfaced clip, the mother of three described children as “an expensive subscription” and insisted they are not gifts from God.
Children as Responsibility, Not Blessings
In the video, Ogbeide stressed that while children are often referred to as blessings, in reality, they are a huge responsibility.
She explained that raising children involves financial, emotional, and personal sacrifices, which many parents underestimate.
According to her, children are something parents create through their efforts, not gifts handed down by God.
Fans React
Her remarks quickly drew mixed reactions online. Some accused her of being insensitive and dismissive of religious beliefs, while others supported her, agreeing that she was highlighting the practical challenges of parenting.
Ogbeide Breaks Down the Cost of Raising Kids
Ogbeide emphasized the financial burden of raising children, citing expenses such as swimming lessons, football training, and daily needs.
She argued that some parents even struggle to feed their children, adding that if children were truly divine blessings, parents would automatically be equipped to care for them.
In her words: “Children are not blessings, and they are not from God. Yes, I don’t care if you believe it or not. Children are from you, not God. They are not gifts. Children are an expensive subscription you can’t return or cancel. Children are what you make — they come from your hard work, not from God. What comes from God is something you don’t merit or work for. The Bible even says the blessing of the Lord adds no sorrow. Children bring responsibility, stress, and bills, so they are something you create. Do you know there are people who can’t even feed their children? They have to beg before their kids eat. If children were truly from God, He would first bless the parents whether they work or not before giving them children. You don’t get it? or do you want me to speak in tongues before you understand?”
