Bandits abduct couples from their home in Edo state, demands ransom in chilling video

Residents of Aviele Community near Auchi in Edo state were thrown into panic after armed bandits stormed a newlywed couple’s home and abducted them, sparking outrage throughout the community.

In a viral video shared on Instagram by activist Harrison Gwamnishu, the kidnappers were seen sending a chilling message to the family, demanding a ransom for the safe release of the victims.

In the footage, the husband can be heard pleading in fear while his wife cries:

“Abeeg make una help us, abeeg make una help us, my wife get belle. They want to sleep with her. Please help us. We only have ₦7 million in our account, and they are demanding ₦50 million.”

According to the victim’s brother, the couple was kidnapped around 8 PM after returning home from town. A witness reported seeing the abductors, allegedly Fulani herdsmen, taking the couple into the bush.

The activist is appealing to both the Edo State Government and the Federal Government to intervene urgently, restore peace, and protect residents in vulnerable areas.

The incident has thrown the community into panic, with residents expressing outrage over the growing attacks in Edo State.
