AGN president Emeka Rollas has officially suspended Nollywood actor Taye Arimoro over the violent incident on Peggy Ovire’s movie set. AGN recently announced its joint verdict with the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN) and the Association of Movie Producers (AMP).

In a press statement shared hours ago, Emeka revealed that the decision was absolutely necessary to restore trust within Nollywood.

According to him, after the three guilds reviewed the findings from their disciplinary committees, they concluded that Taiye Arimoro was the primary aggressor in the incident for assaulting the production manager and the driver, and then circulating a misleading live video that misrepresented the events and falsely dragged Peggy Ovire into the issue.

Clarifying that Peggy wasn’t present during the initial altercation, he confirmed that the director, production manager and crew have been cleared of any wrongdoing.

Declaring that Taiye Arimoro is hereby suspended from all Nollywood productions until further notice, Rollas shared that the actor must make a public apology to Peggy Ovire and the director, while also releasing a corrective video stating the actual sequence of events.

The AGN President further directed Taiye to return and complete his remaining scenes for “Pieces of Love” under supervised conditions, instructing him to comply fully with any further instructions from the guilds.

Addressing Peggy Ovire, the guilds disclosed that while the actress and producer wasn’t involved in the initial fight, her emotional reaction at the estate gate contributed to the escalation outside the compound.

They ordered her to write official apology letters to the guilds, apologise to the estate management, and submit a written undertaking committing to better personnel handling on future sets.
