The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced Thursday, 18 December 2025, as the official passing-out date for members of the 2024 Batch C, Stream II. The decision was confirmed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the NYSC’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu.

According to the statement, the ceremony will be conducted in a low-key format, with Certificates of National Service distributed to qualifying Corps Members across local government areas nationwide. This decentralised approach has been adopted in recent years to ensure seamless coordination and to ease logistical pressures.

In the days leading up to the event, Corps Members will participate in a series of Job Advisory and Counselling sessions, organised in collaboration with partner agencies and employers. These sessions are designed to provide guidance on career opportunities and enhance employability as members prepare to transition into the labour market. Additionally, Corps Members will complete the signing of final clearance forms under the supervision of Zonal Inspectors, a key requirement for the passing-out process.

Established in 1973, the NYSC remains a cornerstone of national development and integration in Nigeria. The one-year compulsory programme for graduates under the age of 30 comprises a three-week orientation camp, a primary assignment phase, and a community development service period.

During the orientation camp, Corps Members undergo paramilitary drills, leadership and citizenship training, entrepreneurship classes through the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, and activities aimed at fostering national unity and community integration.

Following this phase, participants are deployed to various Places of Primary Assignment, where they contribute to critical sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and social development. Many are credited with delivering community projects that address local needs and promote grassroots development.

As the 2024 Batch C, Stream II prepares to conclude its service year, the NYSC leadership expressed confidence that members will continue to make meaningful contributions to national growth long after their exit from the Scheme.
