Kaka Igbokwe, a former manager of Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, confirmed that the singer was arrested in London after a heated altercation with his pregnant wife, Natasha Osawaru.
His confirmation ended days of rumours and speculation that had spread across social media.
2Baba had travelled to the United Kingdom with Natasha for a concert tour. He was scheduled to perform on October 2, 2025.
However, he did not show up at the event, confusing fans and organisers.
His absence quickly fuelled reports that something had gone wrong shortly after the couple arrived in the country.
Rumours first emerged that the award-winning singer was arrested following a public argument with Natasha, who is also a lawmaker in the Edo State House of Assembly.
The alleged incident reportedly happened at the airport shortly after their flight landed.
Kaka, who is the son of the late music legend Christy Essien-Igbokwe, confirmed the story during an Instagram Live session hosted by media personality Daddy Freeze on Monday evening. He stated plainly that “everything you heard about the couple’s face-off was true.”
Kaka said he was part of the London team handling 2Baba’s arrival logistics, and he had travelled on the same flight with the couple.
He then provided a detailed account of how the clash had begun. According to him, the trouble started when Natasha became upset after she felt that 2Baba abandoned her at the airport.
Kaka explained that fans had rushed to meet the singer as soon as he stepped into the arrival hall.
In the process, some of them led him into a nearby shop, and he followed them without realising Natasha had fallen behind.
Natasha, who is heavily pregnant, reportedly felt ignored and left out. Kaka said she became emotional and angry because she believed her husband should have stayed by her side.
When 2Baba noticed she was missing, he quickly ran back to meet her. However, by the time he reached her, Natasha had already started lashing out at him.
The altercation drew attention and escalated, prompting airport authorities to intervene.
According to Kaka’s account, the situation became intense enough for the police to detain the singer.
He said the officers handcuffed 2Baba and took him away for questioning. This sudden turn of events shocked onlookers and left those present at the airport unsettled.
The incident gained even more attention after a video surfaced online. The footage, showing a man believed to be 2Baba being handcuffed by UK police, was posted by blogger Tosin Silverdam on TikTok on December 1, 2025.
The clip spread rapidly, triggering heated debates and raising fresh questions about what had actually happened.
Kaka’s confirmation added weight to the circulating reports and brought clarity to the timeline.
However, neither 2Baba nor Natasha has publicly addressed the arrest, leaving several aspects of the case unanswered.
Details such as the duration of his detention, whether charges were filed, and how the matter was resolved remained unclear at the time of reporting.
The incident marked yet another twist in a year filled with major headlines for the celebrated musician.
