Activist lawyer, Maduabuchi Idam, has advised President Bola Tinubu over his proposed ambassadorial nominees.
Idam warned that Nigeria may suffer a greater international damage with some of those who made the ambassadorial list.
There has been outrage over some names on the list of ambassadorial nominees Tinubu sent to the National Assembly for confirmation.
In a statement he signed, Idam said some of the names has vindicated the stance of some Nigerians that Tinubu’s administration is a joke.
He said: “With some of the names on the list, Mr. President’s administration risks suffering even greater international damage than it is already experiencing.
“The names on the list of ambassadorial nominees have vindicated many Nigerians who believe President Tinubu’s government to be a joke.
“Several personalities on the list are individuals whose reputations are damaging to Nigeria’s image, and President Tinubu should have known better than to present them as the nation’s representatives.
“To say the least, many of the names lack the requisite diplomatic traits to represent a fragile nation like Nigeria.
“They are either individuals with corruption-laden portfolios or persons with a poor international reputation.
“With some of the names on the list, Mr. President’s administration risks suffering even greater international damage than it is already experiencing.”
