Seun Kuti, Nigerian musician and youngest son of the late Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, has reacted to the viral video of dancer Korra Obidi performing a twerking tribute at his father’s gravesite.
New Daily Prime reports that Korra, who recently visited Nigeria, stopped by Fela’s burial site over the weekend and shared a video of herself dancing in honour of the music icon. Posting the clip on Instagram, she wrote:
“I gave baba an offering. We visited the grave site of Anikulapo Kuti today, and we all know that one thing Fela loved was a woman with gyrating hips. So I decided to twerk for baba.”

Responding to the gesture, Seun Kuti expressed appreciation, noting that the tribute aligned with Fela’s vibrant personality and cultural legacy.
“You guys know what baba likes but you will never give him what he wants. E go better for you my sister,” he said.
The video has since stirred mixed reactions across social media. While some users praised Korra for celebrating Fela playfully and unconventionally, others criticised the act as disrespectful and inappropriate for a gravesite.
Fela Kuti, who died in 1997, remains one of Africa’s most influential cultural figures, known for his music, activism, and flamboyant lifestyle.
