A young lady has taken to social media to share a frustrating dating experience that has sparked debate about modern dating and relationships.
According to her, what started as a normal outing quickly turned awkward when the bill arrived at the end of the date.
In a video shared by @ Chinonso on X (formerly Twitter), she explained that she intentionally brought out her card to pay, partly to be polite and see how her date would respond.
In her words, she said:
“I went on a date with this guy, so I intentionally brought out my card to pay. He did not even try to stop me. Like he was just watching. I had to ask myself, what are men turning into these days?”
To her surprise, the man made no attempt to stop her or even suggest paying the bill. Instead, he sat quietly and watched, leaving her feeling uncomfortable and disappointed.
Her story quickly attracted reactions online. One commentator wrote, “These men are hopeless!” while another asked, “Who raised these men?”
Others, however, argued that the man might have been shy or assumed that, in 2025, it’s normal for women to pay.
