Following the release of Nollywood actress Doris Ogala by the Nigeria Police Force in Lagos, reports have emerged that Pastor Chris Okafor of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries, also known as Grace Nation Liberation City, knelt before the actress and pleaded for peace.

Rearrest in Abuja and Transfer to Lagos

Doris Ogala had been rearrested in Abuja shortly after being granted bail. Police officers from the Zone 2 Command then escorted her to Lagos.

The rearrest and transfer raised widespread attention and concern among the public.

Lawyer Attacked During Arrest

Sources say Doris’s lawyer, Marshal Abubakar, attempted to document the police’s actions during her arrest.

He was reportedly attacked by officers, and his phones were seized before Ogala was flown to Lagos.

TIB Leader Secures Release

A Take It Back (TIB) Movement Coordinator, Jamiu Towolawi, aka Jharmo, intervened to secure Ogala’s release.

He acted as surety and demanded her immediate freedom at the Zone 2 Command.

A source told SaharaReporters:

“Today, a Take It Back leader, Jamiu Towolawi, aka Jharmo, arrived at the Zone 2 command to demand Ogala’s immediate release.”

Pastor Okafor Reportedly Kneels, Appeals for Peace

After Doris Ogala’s release process began, Pastor Okafor reportedly met with her privately and knelt, begging her to allow peace.

“Dramatically, Pastor Chris Okafor who was at the centre of her arrest and controversy arrived at Onikan and pleaded with her to allow peace to reign. It was obvious her arrest was instigated to bully her and upon seeing she is refusing to back down, the pastor fell flat on his knees and begged. ,” the source revealed.

The source added that the meeting lasted close to an hour in a secluded space, with no third parties present.

“The pastor spent close to an hour in a closed-door meeting with Ms. Ogala in private. They met in a secluded space devoid of third parties. After their peace meeting, the police released her to go on ‘health grounds’, with Jharmo serving as surety,” the source said.

Phones Returned, Police Condition Rejected

Following the release, the police reportedly returned the two phones seized from Doris’ lawyer.

They requested that the arrest video be deleted, but the TIB leader rejected this condition, and Doris was allowed to leave freely.

The arrest follows allegations that Pastor Okafor broke a promise to marry Doris.

Her lawyers, Synergy Law Partners, issued a demand letter seeking ₦1 billion in damages for breach of promise and aggravated harm.

Doris claims the relationship began in 2017 when she sought pastoral guidance and that she relied on Okafor’s assurances of marriage to make major life decisions, including exiting a troubled marriage and entrusting him with ₦45 million.

Her legal team insists there is evidence, including photos, videos, messages, and banking records, to support her claims.

What’s Next

While Pastor Okafor has reportedly sought reconciliation, the legal dispute remains unresolved.

Doris Ogala has not withdrawn her claims, and her demand letter reportedly gives the cleric 21 days to respond before further legal action is taken.
