The Taraba State Police Command has directed individuals, organizations and philanthropists planning large-scale gift distributions and charitable activities during the Yuletide season to notify the nearest police formation ahead of time to ensure adequate security and orderly conduct.

In a statement issued on Tuesday in Jalingo, the Command said prior notification would allow the police to deploy sufficient personnel, manage crowds effectively and prevent incidents such as stampedes that often occur during public giveaways.
