A pastor has sparked reactions on social media after publicly defending cleric Chris Okafor amid disturbing allegations made by Nollywood actress Doris Ogala.

The cleric, who addressed the issue during a sermon, described the controversy surrounding Pastor Chris Okafor as part of a broader agenda rather than a personal matter.

According to him, the attacks are aimed at the church as a whole.

His comments come after Doris Ogala went public with allegations accusing Pastor Chris Okafor of breaching a promise to marry her.

Shortly after the allegations went viral, an alleged daughter also claimed that Pastor Chris once called her into his room and spoke about wanting to marry her, leaving her shocked.

Reacting to the growing backlash, the pastor insisted that Chris Okafor was not the real target. He warned that similar accusations would be directed at other pastors in the future.

“They are trying to bring down the church. Chris Okafor is not the problem. If they finish with him, they will start another pastor. Their mission is to bring down Christianity,” he said.

The defending cleric further stated that moments like this reveal who the true members of the church are, adding that such situations help separate genuine believers from others.

The controversy has continued to attract mixed reactions online. One commentator wrote, “Doris Ogala’s claims are serious, but this should be handled properly.” Another added, “Let investigation speak, not social media trials.”

As Doris Ogala’s allegations continue to fuel discussions, the Chris Okafor controversy has once again divided public opinion between those calling for accountability and others who believe the church is under coordinated attack.
