A lady has ignited conversations online after firmly stating that a boyfriend has no financial obligation to his partner, stressing that a relationship should not be treated as a form of poverty relief.

According to her, dating someone does not automatically entitle one to material or financial benefits.

Lady draws line between dating and financial responsibility

She argued that simply carrying the title of “girlfriend” does not mean a man owes his partner everything in the world.

In her view, expectations often become unrealistic when partners confuse affection with entitlement.

I will say this again and again: a boyfriend owes you nothing. A relationship is not a poverty relief grant. Just because you are dating a young man and carry the title of his girlfriend does not mean he owes you everything in the world. Think about it, Marriage never set.”

Emphasising the distinction between dating and marriage, she pointed out that there is no binding commitment at the relationship stage.
