An elderly Nigerian woman has gone viral on social media after her only child was reportedly kidnapped by armed bandits in Kogi State.
The mother’s emotional plea has captured the attention of netizens, sparking discussions about the rising cases of kidnapping in the region.
Tragic Incident on Thursday
According to a viral video shared on TikTok by @flodacollection, the incident occurred on Thursday when the daughter, Binuyo Latifat’s only child, boarded a vehicle in Ido.
Shortly after, she became unreachable, prompting her mother to realize she had been kidnapped.
The elderly woman recounted the moment she learned about her daughter’s disappearance, saying:
“Please help me, this is my child that was kidnapped. The incident happened on Thursday. She entered a car at Ido, and when I called her, I heard they’ve kidnapped her.”
Ransom Demand by Bandits
The kidnappers are reportedly demanding a ransom of N30 million for her release.
In the video, the distraught mother pleaded:
“They said they want 30 million as ransom. I beg you, please help me. Don’t let me weep over my child, she’s the only one I have.”
