Former Governor of Kano State and national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has raised fresh concerns over the worsening security in the country.
He stated this while reacting to the killing of 162 people at Woro and Nuku communities of Kwara State via a post on his verified Facebook account on Wednesday.
Kwankwaso said the attack showed that violent and terrorist groups are extending their operations into areas previously regarded as peaceful, warning that no region of the country should now feel immune.
According to him, the continued spread of insecurity poses a serious challenge to national stability and places enormous pressure on the nation’s security architecture, particularly the armed forces.
“The Federal Government cannot afford to treat these developments lightly,” he said, stressing that the situation demands decisive and coordinated national action to prevent further loss of innocent lives.
Kwankwaso described the incident as a barbaric act that must be condemned in the strongest terms, adding that allowing such groups to fester would further endanger communities across the country.
He also sympathised with the families of those killed, the people of Kwara State and the state government, praying for divine comfort for the bereaved and eternal rest for the victims.
