A man living in Florida is currently in police custody following his arrest for impersonation and fraud.

The man known as Jeffrey Arthur Moynihan Jr. was accosted by the police at his home in Bradenton for posing as Tesla boss, Elon Musk in order to scam an elderly woman to the tune of $250,000.

The 56-year-old had built a rapport with the victim who is 74 years old and lives in Texas and started having a conversation with her on social media via Facebook in 2023.

Jeffrey promised the aged woman that he would give her $ 55 million as a return on investment after making a certain amount of investment and her husband revealed to the Police that Jeffery duped her of some $600,000 in total.

“The victim was convinced she had, in fact, invested her money with Elon Musk,” Detective Jim Curulla of the Bradenton Police Department said.

“The victim felt like Elon really was her friend,” the spokesperson continued. “After ‘Elon’ built trust with her, he suggested she invest in his businesses. She made several transactions over a period of time.”

Our sources say that an investigation is underway and the Police have inspected his home to find where he hid all the money he took from the old woman.
