Renowned Nigerian clergyman and convener of the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD), Pastor Jerry Eze, has opened up about the motivation behind his unwavering dedication to evangelism.

Speaking during a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo, the Abuja-based pastor emphasized that he does not consider himself a “professional pastor.”

In his words, Eze explained that his calling is not about personal recognition or institutionalized religion, but solely about advancing God’s purpose through generations.

“I am not a professional pastor; the day I become a professional pastor, let God kill me. Let me leave this whole thing. The day it ceases to be about God and becomes about Jerry, then let the Lord shut everything down,” he said.

Eze, who leads one of the most influential online prayer platforms globally, shared that he never envisioned rising to his current level of visibility and influence.

According to him, his journey has been driven by a genuine passion to see lives transformed through God, not by ambition or personal branding.

He stressed that he constantly seeks to ensure that the focus remains on God, not on his personality or popularity.

While some argue that genuine ministry should not be equated with financial success, others believe that God’s blessing can manifest in prosperity especially for those serving in full-time ministry.

Despite the criticisms, Pastor Jerry Eze’s NSPPD livestreams continue to draw massive daily audiences from across the globe, with testimonies and miracles often shared by viewers.
