Popular Ghanaian gospel singer, Ohemaa Mercy has sparked a buzz online after she spoke about what led to her decision to end her marriage with her husband, Mr. Twum-Ampofo.

In a candid interview with Cookie Tee on TV3, the gospel star explained that the separation was not a sudden decision but one grounded in deep reflection and prayer.

Ohemaa Mercy shared that her choice to end her marriage was a carefully considered one, seeking God’s guidance before making the final decision.

“I didn’t just get up one day and decide to divorce my husband. I took it to God in prayer. I was committed to doing the Lord’s work, and I knew marriage was somewhat going to hinder it. So I sought His permission and approval before deciding to divorce him,” she explained.

When asked if she initiated the divorce, Ohemaa Mercy confirmed that she made the first move, stressing that the decision was mutual and free of hostility. “We came to a mutual agreement about going our separate ways, and he agreed,” she added.
