What we know about Brian Glenn, the foolish, insensitive reporter who confronted Zelenskyy about ‘wearing a suit’

Georgia leaders along with many others are still debating and discussing last weekend’s contentious meeting between Presidents Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
While the blow-up near the end is probably the most talked-about moment, the second most viral moment might be when conservative journalist Brian Glenn confronted Zelenskyy about his attire, a moment that generated more than 12 million views on CSPAN alone. Who is Brian Glenn? What did he ask? What happened next? Here’s what we know:
Where is Brian Glenn from?
Brian Glenn said in an interview with Steve Bannon that he is from east Texas. Multiple news outlets have reported recently that he is 56-years-old.

What does Brian Glenn do?
Glenn is a longtime far-right journalist, currently working for “Real America’s Voice” as its chief White House correspondent, according to X (formerly known as Twitter). He previously hosted “Right Side Broadcasting Network.
Who is Brian Glenn dating?
Glenn is dating U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia. In an interview with Politico, he said they started seeing each other in early 2023.
“He’s from the industry, so he is a great resource. He’s explained a lot, like how things work and yeah, it’s great,” Greene told Semafor in April 2023. “So maybe I’m falling in love with the press.”
What are Brian Glenn’s politics?
Like his girlfriend, Glenn has been a passionate supporter of President Donald Trump. There are multiple videos on YouTube coming to his defense against liberals at events and called his recent Inauguration “Liberation Day.” He recently reposted a video on X of Trump with some “Trump Was Right About Everything” hats. In it, Glenn asks for a hat saying “I said you were right from day one.”
Here are his takes on some issues:
-
“The 2020 election was as fraudulent as they come.”
-
“Just watched a news anchor become struck with fear when asked if they preferred ‘paper or plastic’ straws. Couldn’t answer. That’s the cowardly media and how desperate they are to maintain a good standing within the culture club of wokeness. I prefer plastic but suck as you may.”
-
“Today ‘common sense prevailed’ and we can now protect women’s sports. It’s a win against the culture war.” (In response to Trump’s Feb. 5 executive order targeting transgender athletes).
-
“Interesting how some of the ‘pro Palestine demonstrators’ in these marches look like total antifa members. Dressed in all black, face mask etc. Same silly chants too. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence.”
‘Why don’t you wear a suit?’ What did Brian Glenn ask Zelenskyy?
“Why don’t you wear a suit?” Glenn asked Zelenskyy. “You refuse to wear a suit….Do you own a suit?” He then told the president a lot of Americans have a problem with it and his lack of respect.
Zelenskyy replied that he would wear the “costume” after the war, adding “Maybe something like yours….Maybe something better, I don’t know. We will see. Maybe something cheaper.”
The Ukrainian president has been known to dress casually and/or in military-like garb including olive green crewnecks with cargo pants and combat boots. This is meant to serve as a reminder that his country is at war. He has consistently worn similar attire to visit other world leaders and attend major events.
What did Brian Glenn say about Zelenskyy suit controversy?
Glenn said he received thousands of “nasty” comments and messages about his question to Zelenskyy. In his response, he expressed sympathy for Ukrainians while doubling-down on his fashion critique:
“For him, once again, to enter the highest office in the most powerful nation in the world, dressed as he did, reflects his inner disrespect for not only our country, the President and the US citizens that have made it possible for Ukraine to survive as long as they have to this point. (Financially speaking),” he wrote on X.

What did Marjorie Taylor Greene say about Zelenskyy suit controversy?
Greene was very proud of her boyfriend.
“No one should be offended by Brian’s question,” she wrote on X. “Why won’t Zelensky wear a suit when he comes to meet with our President in the Oval Office demanding more money from the American people? It was a great question and his bad attitude reflected in his answer….He’s become a dictator who just wants an endless amount of soldiers to die while other countries pay for it and supply weapons.”
