Several past contestants of the Big Brother Naija reality TV show have opened up about how the platform transformed their lives and careers.

The ex-housemates shared their experiences during a recent interview at the birthday celebration of BBNaija host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, held in Lagos.

Ebuka, who rose to fame as a contestant on the show before becoming its host, acknowledged the role BBNaija played in shaping his career.

“Big Brother Naija made me a television presenter. That path wasn’t part of my original plan I was a lawyer and expected to still be practicing. But my time in the Big Brother house helped me discover my passion for speaking. Without the show, I wouldn’t have this career in TV today,” he said.

Actress Bisola Aiyeola also credited the show for accelerating her growth in the entertainment industry.

“Even though I was confident I’d succeed eventually, Big Brother Naija catapulted me to the top much faster than I expected,” she explained.

Actor and filmmaker Elozonam echoed similar sentiments, saying, “It gave my brand the visibility and recognition it needed.”

Mercy Eke, who won the show in 2019, described the experience as a complete transformation.

“Big Brother Naija didn’t just boost my brand it changed my life entirely. Everything about me evolved through that platform,” she stated.

Actor Gideon Okeke expressed deep gratitude, noting that the show gave him a way out of hardship.

“If not for Big Brother Naija, I’d still be in the ghetto. Now, people know my name,” he said.

Television personality KimOprah praised the show as a global stage for talent.

“It’s a powerful platform. Once you’re on it, your journey can only go upward,” she noted.

Podcaster Adekunle also appreciated the exposure.

“Big Brother made me visible to millions. It gave me a voice and recognition I wouldn’t have had otherwise.”

Singer and former winner Laycon highlighted the significant impact on his music career.

“It launched my career into the stratosphere,” he remarked.
