Nigerian content creator and entrepreneur Amarachi Amusi, popularly known as Ashmusy, has addressed critics who claim she looks older than 30.
The backlash began shortly after Ashmusy marked her 30th birthday on Friday. As she shared celebratory posts online, some social media users questioned the authenticity of her age, insisting she appeared much older.
In response, Ashmusy took to her platform to clear the air, stating that the perception of her being older has less to do with her physical appearance and more to do with her long-standing presence in the public eye.
She said: “I see a lot of people arguing my age aggressively and I find it funny.Wait, I’m supposed to be 40 or 50 years old? Even with the 30, I’m still in disbelief. Anyway let’s be honest, this has nothing to do with my looks, it’s just your mindset of me, how you have watched me grow, hustle, evolve, achieve mighty things.. so that eyes makes you see me as advanced Please 30 is old enough Haa”.
Ashmusy further emphasized that being young doesn’t mean you can’t accomplish great things, and instead of arguing over her age, people should focus on their own growth.
“Anyway, instead of stressing, how about I help you make money and achieve those things too?” she added with a hint of humor.
Ashmusy began her content creation career in 2018, quickly gaining popularity for her comedic and relatable skits. Today, she is one of the most recognizable names in Nigeria’s digital entertainment space.
