Super Falcons arrive in Abuja after 10th WAFCON title win

Nigeria’s Super Falcons returned home on Monday after winning their 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title, beating host nation Morocco.

The victorious team arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at exactly 2:45 p.m. via a chartered flight.

The team was received by some dignitaries including Gov. Hope Uzodimma of Imo, Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo and his Information and National Orientation counterpart, Mohammed Idris Malagi.

Keyamo, who spoke to the media after the team’s arrival, said the ladies displayed the Nigerian spirit on the pitch and deserved all admiration.

“The girls have ‘I can do spirit’, which is typical of every Nigerian; we need this same attitude in every sector.

“We are happy to welcome the champions, who were incredible in the tournament and can’t wait for President Bola Tinubu to receive them,” Keyamo said.

The team now heads to the Presidential villa.
