Israel’s rejection of Palestine becoming an independent nation remains unshaken despite pressure, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Thursday.

Netanyahu made the declaration in the city of Ma’ale Adumim, located in the West Bank, as he signed an agreement on the controversial E1 settlement expansion plan.

The Israeli leader reminisced about his earlier promise to approve to development, which transcends the West Bank land that the Palestinians want as theirs.

Netanyahu said that the construction was “another promise we will keep”, projecting that Ma’ale Adumim will double in size with a population of 70,000 within the next five years.

“There will be no Palestinian state, there will not be,” the prime minister vowed. “This place belongs to us. We will safeguard our land and our security.”
