The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has proclaimed the Lagos Security Vision honed over more than two decades of continuous progressive rule – as a national exemplar for effective security management at the sub-national level.

Amid evolving criminal threats and what the party described as politically motivated attempts to exploit insecurity, Lagos has maintained relative calm through strategic foresight, sustained investment, and institutional continuity, the statement noted.
Successive APC administrations from President Bola Tinubu’s tenure as governor to the current leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu have prioritised security as a core governance imperative rather than mere rhetoric, enabling the state to preserve economic vitality and social harmony despite its status as Nigeria’s most populous and dynamic metropolis.
Central to this success is the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), established under Tinubu and now widely regarded as the country’s premier public-private financing mechanism for equipping security agencies with vehicles, surveillance tools, and communication systems.
“Under Governor Sanwo-Olu, technology-driven policing has advanced significantly, with widespread deployment of CCTV cameras, digital monitoring platforms, and crime-mapping systems shifting operations towards intelligence-led prevention and rapid response.”
Community engagement forms another pillar, incorporating traditional rulers, civil society, and local development associations into intelligence networks to foster greater public participation in security.
The party also highlighted seamless inter-agency collaboration involving the Nigeria Police, Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps, LASTMA, FRSC, and emergency services, bolstered by the professional capabilities of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).

“With federal security reforms underway, Lagos, it asserted, serves as a vital reference for productive federal-state partnership
