The Association of Resident Doctors, Federal Capital Territory Administration, ARD-FCTA, has re-elected Dr George Ebong as president.
His re-election took place over the weekend during the association’s week-long event in Abuja. Ebong is expected to serve ARD-FCTA for an additional year.
In his speech following his swearing-in on Saturday, he reaffirmed his commitment to vigorously pursue the welfare of doctors, which he said is rightfully due to them.
He appealed to FCT authorities, under Minister Nyesom Wike, to prioritise doctors’ welfare, noting that this would help discourage mass migration from the healthcare sector.
Ebong also urged that the demands of other health workers be addressed to end industrial strike action.
He, however, commended Wike for recent approvals and appealed for their prompt implementation.
