Violence rocked the All Progressives Congress, APC, congress in Ethiope-West Local Government Area of Delta State on Saturday as the member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, daughter of former Governor James Ibori, was attacked by gunmen.

The incident occurred at Ovade, venue of the congress in Ethiope-West.

DAILY POST correspondent reports that several persons were injured during the incident.

It was gathered that violence erupted shortly after Ibori-Suenu arrived the venue of the congress.

The federal lawmaker and her supporters were attacked with guns and other dangerous weapons by the assailants, who denied her access into the venue of the congress. However, the attacks were foiled by the lawmaker’s security details.

Meanwhile, Ibori-Suenu have appealed for calm among APC supporters in the state.
