A man has shared the story of his cousin, praising her decision to leave her marriage just three months after her wedding following an incident of domestic violence.

The account, which has generated conversations on social media, highlighted how the woman reportedly walked away from the relationship after being physically assaulted by her husband for the first time.

According to him, the woman had noticed signs of anger issues before marriage but believed she could manage the situation.

However, only three months into the union, a disagreement over preparing a meal escalated into violence when her husband slapped her repeatedly after she suggested he could have started preparing the food before she arrived home from work.

Woman leaves marriage after assault

“She thought she could cope with his temper because the warning signs seemed minor before marriage. When he slapped her, she realized the situation was more serious than she had imagined. She remained calm, avoided escalating the confrontation and later left the house the following day without returning.”

The man explained that despite attempts by family members to reconcile the couple, his cousin refused to return to the marriage.

He added that she temporarily relocated and maintained her position throughout discussions aimed at resolving the dispute.

Court dissolves union years later

“Two years later, the marriage was officially dissolved by the court. Seven years after that, news emerged that the same man had killed another wife,” he claimed.

Cases of domestic violence have repeatedly drawn public attention in recent years, with advocates urging victims to seek help and prioritize their safety when warning signs emerge.
