Dak Prescott is addressing the rumors about why his engagement did not get to the altar.
The Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback and his ex-fiancée, Sarah Jane Ramos, announced that they would not be going through with their wedding, initially scheduled for April, during their bachelor/bachelorette trip earlier this year.
Speculation from different angles, including infidelity, trust issues, poor communication, and differences over a pre-nup, made waves. Dak Prescott, however, insists that the split was mutual and they are focused on raising their daughters together.
Prescott addressed the end of his engagement to Ramos at training camp this week. He expressed that their romance ending in such a public setting gave way to many “false narratives.”
“Yeah, I mean, I don’t necessarily think it was public to me. Once again, I believe what you take in, what you read, what you look up, you’re doing that to yourself,” the pro athlete began.
“There were a lot of false narratives out there on both of our sides. That was very unfortunate, unfortunate for me,” he continued without pinpointing what part of the rumors was false. He acknowledged that narratives being spun by the media only go to show the “kind of life we live in.”
The Cowboys quarterback noted that the situation has affected everyone involved, including the kids, but he is striving to ensure that he steps up to the plate and is “there in every which way for them.”

The parents of two announced that their wedding was off the calendar during their joint bachelor and bachelorette parties. They also issued a joint statement telling attendees that the nuptials scheduled to take place in Lake Como, Italy, on April 10, had been canceled.
“It is with heavy hearts that we privately inform our attendees that we have made the very difficult decision to cancel our wedding,” part of their joint message read.
There were whispers that the wedding was called off because Ramos refused to sign a prenup, but sources told TMZ that there was no truth to the claim. The insiders also confirmed that the former lovers were focused on co-parenting, and there was no hope of rekindling their lost romantic flame.
A few months later, Prescott was spotted at an event with one of his ex’s would-be bridesmaids, Caitlin Rance, but he confirmed they were not dating.

The Blast reported that a court date was initially scheduled before they decided to settle out of court. Ramos’ attorney shared that she was very happy they were able to work out an arrangement and come to an agreement on what is best for their daughters.
“She firmly believes that working together as parents is very important and will have long-term benefits for the girls. Sarah Jane continues to be dedicated to putting the girls’ best interests and lives first,” Her lawyer, Raymond Rafool, told news outlets.
In his initial filing, Prescott had argued that “it is in the best interest of the children” for both parents to “be appointed joint managing conservators” of the girls. Details of the finalized agreement remain private.
