They’re said to have stayed on Tanera Mòr for two days and explored the remote waters around the isle aboard Rita, a vintage Clyde puffer, per the Daily Mail. The getaway also gave the family a chance to take in the island’s stunning scenery and abundant wildlife.

Harry’s family trip to Tanera Mòr is reportedly raising fresh questions about his long-running concerns over security in the UK.

The Sussexes were able to make the trip to the private island, owned by billionaire hedge fund manager Ian Wace, without being noticed by the public. Their spokesperson declined to comment on the getaway, although one of Meghan’s Instagram posts reportedly featured scenery resembling the Scottish Highlands.

A source familiar with the situation claimed the family’s ability to “travel quietly without attracting attention” could give critics fresh ammunition against Harry’s calls for greater police protection.

However, the insider cautioned that the trip may have little relevance to his legal arguments. “Whether it has any bearing legally is another matter entirely,” the source said. Another insider noted that Harry’s supporters could argue the trip’s privacy actually demonstrates that careful security planning worked as intended.

Tanera Mòr Gives Its Famous Guests Ultimate Privacy

The 800-acre island famously inspired the classic 1973 cult horror film “The Wicker Man.”

It was purchased for £1.7 million about nine years ago by hedge fund honcho Wace, who has managed to remain friends with William and Harry despite the brothers’ estrangement. Wace has since spent well over £100 million turning it into the idyllic destination it is today.

Part of the restoration work includes the construction of about three miles of roads, the planting of 100,000 trees, and the revival of beekeeping.

According to the Daily Mail report, the island can only be accessed via jetties owned by Wace, and visitors must be granted permission to use them. Privacy is also taken seriously, with staff reportedly told to leave the island a day before certain guests arrive and return a day after they depart.

A source who lives in Achiltibuie, the closest mainland village to the island on the Coigach peninsula, suggested the luxury resort offered Harry and Meghan the exclusivity they reportedly sought.

“We all know when somebody important is coming over because the workers are all told to go away for a few days, while (Mr Wace) has guests who want privacy,” the source said. “There’ve been rumors Harry has been there in the past, and William has been there.”

Another insider said they heard Harry and Meghan stayed both on the mainland and on the island. The area is also said to have electric bikes available for getting around.

“They didn’t get there from Achiltibuie, so must have gone the other way from Ullapool on the fast boat. There’s a lot of work that’s happened since [Mr Wace] bought it – he’s worked on all the old buildings to renovate them,” they continued.

“He will have improved the roads as well. By all accounts it’s very high-end accommodation. He’s spent a fortune,” the insider added.
