Melania Trump and Donald Trump‘s marriage is facing renewed attention as a new report claims that the president and first lady are hardly on speaking terms.
The recent scrutiny of the first couple’s relationship follows weeks of headlines about the unusually close association the president has with his blonde aide, Natalie Harp, and Melania’s limited public appearances.
One relationship expert shared in an analysis that such a marriage, in which they barely communicate and lead separate lives, is unlikely to be healthy.
5Speaking to Irish Star, expert Gemma Logan weighed in on the rumors plaguing Trump and Melania’s marriage, explaining what the alleged lack of communication could mean for the presidential couple.
Logan stated, “A marriage where two people are reportedly barely speaking is clearly not in a healthy place.”
She noted that “communication is the heartbeat of any long-term relationship,” arguing that barely talking to each other can result in a couple living lives separate from one another rather than sharing it.
“When conversation becomes minimal, couples can start living parallel lives rather than a shared one,” the expert added.
Logan also questioned whether such a couple would feel connected even when they are together, suggesting that the first lady and her husband may be emotionally distant as well as physically distant.
However, she insisted that distance is not necessarily a sign that there is a problem, as “some couples need constant closeness to feel connected,” while others “function with far more independence, particularly when both partners have demanding lives, strong personalities and very different ways of dealing with public attention.”
Trump Biographer Claims The President And His Wife And Melania Are Living Separate Lives
5Speculations concerning the state of Trump and Melania’s marriage center partly on how infrequently the pair are seen together publicly.
As reported by the International Business Times, Biographer Michael Wolff alleged that Melania has based herself in New York rather than living in the White House.
Wolff wrote that aides described Melania as a “part-time first lady” and “firmly ensconced in New York City.”
He stated, “Melania has managed to achieve something no first lady has ever achieved, not living in the White House.”
The biographer claims she stays nowhere near the presidential villa, calling it a separation, and questioned the arrangement, saying, “With what leverage did she negotiate this deal? What else has she managed to get?”

5Wolff’s detailing of how far apart the first couple often are is consistent with reports that noted that Melania’s public appearances have greatly diminished since the Trump administration began its second term.

White House executive assistant Harp can also be linked to the first lady’s absence, as Wolff claims that whenever she’s around, Melania “would not show up.”
Natalie Harp’s Closeness With The President Adds To Scrutiny
5Melania is allegedly locked in an ongoing “power struggle” with Harp, and the first lady would intentionally avoid events the aide was expected to be present at.
The 35-year-old executive assistant who has become a highly visible figure around the president has been the focus of much discussion surrounding the first marriage.
Harp works closely with Trump and is frequently seen accompanying him while also assisting with communications and providing him with printed materials, his longtime preferred way of getting information.
She has been nicknamed the “human printer” because she carries a portable printer which she uses to supply the president with articles and other materials.
The attention on her intensified after reports emerged of letters she allegedly wrote to the president where she expressed the unusually strong level of personal loyalty she has for Trump.
In one letter, per People Magazine, she wrote, “you are all that matters to me,” and referred to Trump as her “Guardian and protector in this life.”
Harp is said to be “obsessed” with the president, and her closeness with him is speculated, but not confirmed, to be causing friction in Trump’s marriage.
White House Rejects The Allegations Despite Melania Trump’s Growing Distance From Her Husband
5The White House has repeatedly rejected Wolff’s and, by extension, the public’s allegations that Melania and Trump have a troubled relationship.
White House Spokesman Davis Ingle told the Daily Beast, “Michael Wolff is a professional scumbag and serial liar with sh-t for brains.”
The couple recently appeared together publicly at a White House Rose Garden event where the first lady returned after a month-long absence and the Freedom 250 Grand Prix.
Rumors of marital strife remain rumors and have not been officially confirmed. However, the speculation shows no sign of stopping as Melania’s absence and Trump’s dynamic with his executive assistant continue to be increasingly noticeable.
