The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced a temporary traffic diversion on the Kaduna–Zaria section of the A2 highway today, Sunday, September 6, 2026.

The diversion, scheduled for 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., will take place at DK825, Kwaranza Village, near the intersection with the Kaduna–Kano railway line.

The FRSC said the measure was necessary to allow engineers to inspect railway bridge beams being constructed under the Kaduna–Kano Rail Modernisation Project.

During the exercise, motorists will use one lane of the dual carriageway, while FRSC personnel will control traffic at the affected section.

The Corps said warning signs, cones and diversion markers would be deployed to guide motorists and minimise disruption.

“Motorists are advised to obey all traffic signs, diversion markers and instructions from FRSC personnel,” the command said.

It also urged motorists to reduce speed, avoid overtaking and exercise caution when approaching the diversion.

“Safety remains a collective responsibility. Drive safely and obey traffic rules,” the FRSC said, while apologising for any inconvenience caused by the temporary traffic arrangement.

Motorists have been advised to plan their journeys ahead and consider alternative routes where possible to avoid delays.
