Prince Harry and Prince William don’t see eye to eye, but their recent actions suggest they’re aligned on how to handle controversial topics involving the Royal Family.
The warring brothers refused to share their thoughts on their uncle Earl Spencer’s damaging allegations against their father, King Charles, even after the ruling monarch set the record straight.
Rumors are rife that a potential reunion between the brothers could be imminent following Harry’s move back to the UK.
Harry And William Dodge Questions About Their Uncle’s Book

Harry and William seem to be on the same page about the uproar their uncle, Earl Spencer, has caused within the Royal Family.
In his book “Swan Song: Diana, My Sister,” Spencer made a series of unsettling claims about King Charles, alleging that the ruling monarch sounded “giddily elated” on the night of Princess Diana’s death.
He also claimed that Charles said the former Princess of Wales would be forgotten “soon enough” as the pair got into a heated tiff over whether William and Harry should join the funeral procession.
When the Duke of Sussex arrived at the Lancaster Hotel to attend the WellChild Awards, a reporter asked whether he’d spoken with his uncle since the controversy began, but he declined to comment, per PEOPLE.
William took the same approach when he was asked how he felt about the book while arriving at the ActOne Cinema for an event.
Earl Spencer Says Both Princes Were Warned In Advance

Neither brother has publicly commented on the situation. However, Spencer told PEOPLE that they, alongside their aunts Lady Sarah and Lady Jane, were all informed about the book before its release.
“All four of them, I told them [at] exactly the same time. And I can say that Harry is completely fine about it,” Spencer said.
According to the news outlet, the author noted that Harry was only concerned about whether the book contained “anything embarrassing” about him.
“I said, ‘There isn’t,’” he recalled. “I think it’s natural that people so in the public eye are concerned about how they will come across in the book. But I could reassure both of them that they’re, of course, in the book, but really as examples of two little boys who had the most exceptional mother. I’m not in any way compromising their privacy at all.”

Meanwhile, Spencer teased that things could have been juicier and more complicated if he had wanted to write a “scandalous” book about Charles.
He said this while acknowledging that Harry and William could have concerns about how their father was portrayed in the book, adding that the claims he included were somewhat lightweight.
“Yeah, that was a concern,” he told the news outlet. “I mean, I don’t want this to sound loaded, but there was an awful lot I could have put in, and I didn’t. If I wanted to write a scandalous book about Prince Charles or King Charles as he is now, it would really be a jaw-dropper, but I’m not here to do that.”

Meanwhile, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams has warned that Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, may be in some sort of “collusion” with his former brother-in-law after the book’s release.
Although the couple has strongly denied the claim, Fitzwilliams insists they’re “absolutely thrilled” that the damaging claims have gone viral and that Buckingham Palace “put out an angry statement” denying the accusations, per The News.
“Do I think he said it? One has to bear in mind that this was nearly 30 years ago. Individuals may or may not have said certain things that they look at in a different context now,” he continued.
“But there’s no question that Earl Spencer is going to get a huge amount of publicity. It’s very damaging for the King,” the expert added.
Harry And William Could Be Headed For A Face-To-Face
Regardless of the situation, rumors of a potential meeting between Harry and William have been gaining steam for some time.
The Duke of Sussex has since returned to the UK to live with his family, but his elder brother has dug his heels in on having anything to do with him.
However, speculation has abounded that William and Kate are ready for a sit-down with the Sussexes, though any meeting between them reportedly wouldn’t be because the Prince of Wales wants to catch up.
“William is extremely concerned about what Harry’s return to Britain will mean for working members of the family. It may well be too risky for them to just sit back and let Harry make the next move,” an insider told royal expert Duncan Larcombe, per Woman & Home.
“There are suggestions that they feel they have no choice but to ask … for a face-to-face meeting to discuss the future and lay down, or at least reiterate, some of the rules,” the source added.
