Uwa Aishatu Idris, daughter of the late former SGF Alhaji Gidado Idris and ex-wife of Captain Bala Shagari, has sparked conversations online after criticizing unrealistic expectations some men have of women.
In a Facebook post shared on Thursday, July 24, the writer and social commentator slammed men who demand a mix of contradictory traits — seeking wives who are submissive yet financially independent, humble like “village girls,” but with the physical appeal of “party girls.”
Her remarks have drawn both praise and debate across social media, with many commending her for speaking out against double standards in relationships.
“Confused men want a submissive wife with an independent woman’s income, a party girl’s body, and a village girl’s humility. Sannu,” she wrote.
In other news…. Nollywood actress Queeneth Hilbert has sparked controversy after publicly calling out her colleague Yul Edochie in a strongly worded Instagram post that has since been deleted.
In the post, Hilbert launched a scathing attack on the actor, using harsh language and making personal accusations. She referred to Edochie in derogatory terms and claimed that he is “locked up in 21 bottles” a phrase that has left fans speculating about its meaning, possibly alluding to alleged struggles or vices.
Although the post was later taken down, screenshots have circulated widely online, fueling online debates and reactions within the Nollywood community.
Among her words were:
“You’re a faggot @yuledochie
God will punish you.
A man who is locked up in 21 bottles.
Polygamous faggot fuvk you”.
The motive behind Hilbert’s outburst remains unclear, as neither party has offered further explanation. However, the situation adds to the ongoing wave of drama surrounding Yul Edochie, who has been under public scrutiny in recent years following his controversial decision to embrace polygamy and other personal choices that have played out in the public eye.
Many fans have condemned the use of offensive language in the post, while others are waiting to see if Edochie will respond.
