“A leader who uplifts” – Rivers federal lawmakers hail Wike as FCT minister gets honourary degree

The Rivers State Caucus in the National Assembly has applauded Nyesom Wike, minister of the federal capital territory (FCT), describing him as “a leader who uplifts and transforms society”.

The commendation follows the conferment of an honourary Doctor of Science degree in Political Science on Wike by the University of Port Harcourt.

In a jointly signed statement on Thursday, the lawmakers hailed the former Rivers governor for his “visionary leadership” and “relentless pursuit of progress”, particularly in the federal capital and beyond.

His words: “We, the members of the Rivers State Caucus in the National Assembly, extend heartfelt congratulations to our leader, the minister of the federal capital territory; His Excellency Dr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike CON, DSSRS, Life Bencher on his recent conferment of an honorary degree — Doctor of Science in Political Science — by the prestigious University of Port Harcourt.

“This remarkable honour is a testament to your unwavering dedication and exemplary leadership in the service of our great nation and particularly in the science of politics.

“Your commitment to advancing the welfare of our people is evident not only through your policies but also through the tangible improvements you have championed across various sectors and the federal capital territory.”

They said Wike’s approach to leadership continues to inspire public servants and communities across Nigeria.

“Your visionary approach and relentless pursuit of progress continue to inspire countless individuals, communities, and public servants.

Those who signed the message include Senators Barry Mpigi and Allwell Onyesoh; House of Representatives members Kingsley Chinda, Dumnamene Dekor, Solomon Bob, Felix Nwaeke, Kelechi Nwogu, Cyril Hart, Victor Obuzor, and Blessing Amadi.
