Dangote Cement has announced the retirement of its founder and majority shareholder, Aliko Dangote, from his position as chairman of the cement manufacturing giant.

The company’s Group Chief, Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday, 25 July 2025.

Chiejina said Dangote retired from his position to focus on Dangote Petroleum Refinery.
