Mutfwang gets special invitation to join Tinubu on state visit to Brazil

Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, on Monday, joined the delegation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is on an official state visit to Brazil, after he received a special invitation by the president.

Mutfwang, who was not part of the official government delegation when the team visited Japan last week, was among top Nigerian government officials who received the President at the Air Base reception in Brazil after he was officially invited to the high-profile engagement.

The Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor, Gyang Bere, who disclosed this in a statement made available to DAILY POST, being a part of the state visit, Mutfwang will join Tinubu and other senior government officials in series of bilateral discussions and the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s relations with Brazil and boosting the nation’s economy.

Bere said as part of the itinerary, the delegation is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with the President of the Brazilian Senate at the National Congress, the President of the Chamber of Deputies, and the President of the Supreme Federal Court and also participate in the Nigeria-Brazil Business Forum, which forms part of a packed programme in Brasília.

He noted that apart from the national engagements, Mutfwang will also use the visit to discuss investment opportunities with the Brazilian government and business communities which will be to the benefit of Plateau State in the long run.

Prior to this development, Plateau State was recently selected as one of the six states in Nigeria to host the regional hub of the Green Imperative $1.1 billion Project within the Nigeria-Brazil partnership, marking a significant turn in agro industrialisation for the state and Nigeria at large.
