Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, met with former President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja on Thursday.

Obi disclosed the meeting in a post on his verified X handle.

The former Anambra State governor described Jonathan as his “elder brother, statesman, and leader.” He said their closed-door meeting was “fruitful” and focused on national issues.

DAILY POST reports that the meeting comes amid speculation within political circles linking both Jonathan and Obi as possible presidential contenders under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ahead of the 2027 elections.

He wrote: “Today in Abuja, I met with my very dear elder brother, statesman, and leader, former President Goodluck Jonathan @GEJonathan. We had a fruitful closed-door meeting and discussed the state of our dear nation.”
