Armed bandits on Tuesday night stormed Tarah community in Sabon-Birni Local Government Area, Sokoto state abducting nine residents and injuring one person with a gunshot wound to the arm.

DAILY POST gathered that the abduction and killing of residents in northern Nigeria have become a recurring pattern, with victims often released from captivity one day, only for attacks to resume the following night.

Local sources said community youth mobilized quickly to confront the attackers, preventing what could have been a far deadlier outcome. The attack occurred just days after members of Tarah’s vigilante group were redeployed to Katsira, leaving the community exposed at a critical moment.

Security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Bakastine, highlighted the escalating risks on his X handle on Wednesday, noting that the recent attacks underscore the urgent need for coordinated action to protect vulnerable communities.

The incident has reignited concerns over mass abductions and killings in northern states, particularly as residents continue to face threats despite ongoing security operations.
