Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe is recognised with the Award of Exemplary Leadership in Public Service for his pragmatic and transformative stewardship of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).
Since his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in December 2023, Engr. Ogbe has brought a renewed sense of urgency to the Board’s mandate, ensuring that the oil and gas industry serves as a true engine for national economic growth.
He is currently spearheading the aggressive implementation of the Board’s 10-Year Strategic Roadmap, with a resolute focus on achieving 70% Nigerian Content retention by 2027.
His recognition stems from his ability to bridge the gap between policy formulation and industrial reality.
Under his leadership, the NCDMB has strengthened regulatory compliance, incentivised indigenous participation, and accelerated capacity development, thereby creating sustainable jobs and building technical competence within the country. Beyond Nigeria, his vision extends to the continent, where he drives local content initiatives in strategic collaboration with APPO, Afreximbank, and the African Development Bank, fostering a climate of industrial self-reliance across Africa.
Engr. Ogbe’s success in public office is deeply rooted in his extensive private sector pedigree.
With over 24 years at Chevron Nigeria Limited and assignments at Chevron’s global headquarters in the USA, as well as leadership roles at BREFEL Limited and NIMA Energy LLC, he possesses a rare mastery of the entire oil and gas value chain. His expertise in construction management, project estimation, and design safety has allowed him to introduce international best practices into the management of the NCDMB, enhancing efficiency and transparency.
A technocrat , Engr. Ogbe holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering and an MSc in Construction Management. He is a distinguished member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, the Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN), and the American Institute of Civil Engineers. His tenure at the NCDMB stands as a testament to the power of technical expertise applied to public governance.
