The Kano State Government says security across the state is stable and fully under control.

This reassurance came from Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf after a State Security Council meeting held on Sunday, attended by top security chiefs.

In a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the government said the message became necessary following the circulation of false and sensational claims about security. It stressed that there is “no credible intelligence suggesting any imminent or significant threat to public peace.”

The administration condemned the spread of misinformation, saying it is aimed at creating fear and confusion among residents. It noted that security agencies and community structures are on heightened alert, with teams already deployed to prevent any disruption.

Residents were urged to stay calm and avoid spreading unverified information.

The government warned that “individuals circulating fake news are advised to desist immediately, as such actions threaten public order and will attract legal consequences.”

D-Tofa added that Governor Yusuf remains committed to improving intelligence gathering, strengthening cooperation among security agencies, and deploying modern security systems. The government vowed it would not allow fear or misinformation to destabilize the state.
